Last March, our lead designer walked into my office with a Pantone chip in one hand and a deadline in the other. "We need this color, in the Celestial Bedding line, before Friday." I'd been the office administrator at our 40-person interior design firm for six years. I'd handled sample shipments, vendor invoices, and even a request for pine shavings for a client's farm remodel.
